Here’s our weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:

New Fairhaven restaurant opens

Tacos Guadalajara, a Mexican restaurant based in Ferndale, has opened a new location in Fairhaven.

The new restaurant opened Dec. 4, according to a social media post from the business, at the previous location of Jalapeño’s Mexican Restaurant in Bellingham’s Fairhaven neighborhood.

Tacos Guadalajara is located at 1007 Harris Ave. in Bellingham, and no operating hours have been announced.

New Sunset Square store

A new store is planned for Sunset Square, as The Good Feet Store has filed a building permit application for a new location at 1225 E Sunset Drive, Suite 150. The application was filed Dec. 2 and had not been approved as of Dec. 5.

Ragfinery reopening delayed

Ragfinery, a textiles recycling business and nonprofit thrift shop, has pushed back its reopening due to the resent storms.

The business, previous located at 1421 N Forest St. in Bellingham, was closed due to a fire in December 2024.

Earlier this month, the business planned to reopen at its new location on January 2, but now the reopening has been delayed.

“Due to the major impact of weather and water issues, Ragfinery will be pushing our reopening date back one week to Friday, Jan. 9 at 10 a.m., resuming our old days/hours for Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” a Dec. 17 email from the business states.

No operating hours have been announced, but the new shop will be at 115 Unity St., suite 101 in Bellingham.
