Take a tour of Bellingham’s new ‘whimsy, woodsy’ coffee shop, Daytrip Cafe
We visited one of Bellingham’s newest eateries to give you an inside look at the “whimsy, woodsy coffee shop” serving a variety of drinks and pastries.
Daytrip Cafe opened in December, taking over the previous location of Narrative Coffee, which closed in February 2025.
The new coffee shop — described as “whimsy” and “woodsy” in its Instagram bio — offers visitors a quaint but vibrant ambiance full of locally crafted art, dried floral wreaths and a pink tiled coffee bar.
The drink menu includes espresso drinks such as americanos, cortadas, lattes, mochas, cold brews and drip coffee, as well as non-coffee options like teas, matcha, chai, golden milk and hot chocolate.
Guests can add a variety of flavors to their drinks, including cardamom, lavender, hazelnut, strawberry, panela, white mocha, vanilla, caramel and chocolate, as well as a choice of dairy, soy, breve or oat milks.
The cafe also serves pastries made by Lamination Station, including croissants, chocolate croissants and cookies, as well as bagels and cream cheese.
Daytrip Cafe exclusively uses Hammerhead Coffee for its espresso drinks, and also has bags available for purchase.
Daytrip Cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 1400 W Holly St. Suite 102 in Bellingham, next door to Elizabeth Station restaurant and market.
The Herald reached out to Daytrip Cafe for this article but did not receive a response.
