A fire early Sunday morning damaged Ragfinery, a nonprofit thrift shop, creative space and textiles store at 1421 N Forest St. in Bellingham.

Capt. Dustin Michaelis of the Bellingham Fire Department said no injuries had been reported.

“The fire started on the exterior of the building and worked its way up an exterior wall, up the eves and into the attic,” Michaelis said.

He said there was moderate fire damage to the building and significant water damage. The fire was out within an hour after fire crews arrived. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Ragfinery posted on social media about the fire, telling people to “stay tuned” on what this means for the operation, and including a link where people can donate to the organization.
