Northern Whatcom County might see some snow overnight, and the Bellingham area will see rain and gusty winds , U.S. and Canadian forecasters said. A winter weather advisory was issued for the North Cascades.
Rain showers are expected to melt slushy snow that remains on roads Thursday morning in the wake of Wednesday’s snowfall that put a few Bellingham school buses on snow routes and slowed the afternoon commute.
As forecast, snow began to fall Wednesday across Whatcom lowlands, including downtown Bellingham. Just in time for the commute, it was sticking to rooftops and yards, but no significant accumulation was likely.
