Whatcom Roundup: Downtown pub closed permanently; holiday closures and more
Here’s our weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:
Flatstick Pub permanently closed
Flatstick Pub, a restaurant and indoor mini golf venue, permanently closed on Saturday, Dec. 20.
The closure was announced in November.
“We’re so grateful for all the memories, laughs, and good times shared here over the years. From epic putt-offs and trivia nights to countless beers with friends — this community has been something special, and we can’t thank you enough for being part of it,” a Nov. 3 Instagram post announcing the closure stated.
Flatstick Pub was located at 902 N State St. in downtown Bellingham.
New plans for Ponderosa Beer location
A change is coming to the previous location of Ponderosa Beer and Books at 1225 Roeder Ave Suite 101, as a building permit application has been filed for a “Change of use from taproom to design lab” by Outbound Lighting. The application has an estimated cost $10,000 and was filed on Dec. 16, and had not been approved as of Dec. 19.
Ponderosa Beer and Books closed permanently back in August.
