Whatcom Roundup: Ferndale’s new Indian restaurant, Bellingham coffee shop opens

Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:

New restaurant opens in Ferndale

Haan’s Tandoor & Bar, a new restaurant serving “enjoy authentic tandoori dishes, flavorful curries, and a cozy atmosphere,” has opened in Ferndale, according to the restaurant’s Facebook profile.

The new buffet restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at 2034 Main St. in Ferndale.

New coffee shop opens

Hi Tide Coffee, a coffee and dirty soda coffee trailer, has opened in Bellingham, according to the shop’s Instagram page.

The unique coffee drive-through serves espresso drinks, matcha, dirty sodas, Redbull refreshers and more. The new shop is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 5309 Guide Meridian St in Bellingham..

Restaurants team up for crawl fundraiser

RAD Bites, a new food and drink crawl fundraiser, is being organized by the owners of Fiamma Pizza and other local restaurants to raise money for Northwest Youth Services.

The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12 and costs $12 per person. Each ticket includes a tasting from 13 participating restaurants including Mallard Ice Cream, Sweet As Waffles, Fiamma Burger, Just Poke and more.

Tickets for the event are available online for the event.

Kulshan Trackside opening soon

Kulshan Brewing Company’s Trackside beer garden is extremely popular for its large lawn area, many brews on tap and live music during the summer.

The beer garden is opening Friday, May 2, according to previous reporting by The Bellingham Herald.

Starting May 2, Trackside will be open from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday at 298 W Laurel St.
