Bellingham’s March events: Mardi Gras parties, St. Patrick’s Day parade, markets and more

Bellingham events
▪ Celebrate Mardi Gras at Boundary Bay Brewery with live music, beer and New Orleans-inspired food. Two bands, Sleepy Alligators and Brasscadia, will be performing. The event costs $10 in advance or $12 at the door and is only for ages 21 and above. Boundary Bay Brewery is at 1107 Railroad Ave.
▪ Open Roller Skate is back at The Depot from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 7. The free event is open to all ages. Participants must bring their own skates, knee pads and other skating accessories. Open Roller Skate is at Depot Market Square, 1100 Railroad Ave.
▪ Chuckanut Bay Distillery is hosting a Roaring 20s Absinthe Party from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, March 8. The 1920s-themed party includes appetizers, an absinthe cocktail, live music and dancing, tarot card readings and a photobooth. Period attire is encouraged, and tickets cost $45 per person for age 21 and above. Tickets can be purchased online in advance. Chuckanut Bay Distillery is at 1309 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham.
▪ The annual Bellingham St. Patrick’s Day Parade is back at noon Sunday, March 16 in downtown Bellingham. The parade will start at the downtown waterfront’s parking lot on Laurel Street, travel past Waypoint Park on Granary Avenue, turn right onto West Chestnut Street and right again on Railroad Avenue to end at Depot Market Square. Those interested in participating in the parade can fill out an interest form online. The parade is free to watch.
▪ Bellingham Makers Market is hosting a Spring Makers Market at The Depot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 22. The market will feature 90 local artists and food trucks and is free to attend. The market is at Depot Market Square at 1100 Railroad Ave.

▪ The Blue Room, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live performers and performances, including jazz nights, local artists, and improv nights. Tickets are available online in advance. The Blue Room is at 202 E. Holly St.
▪ The Shakedown, a live music venue and bar, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. The Shakedown is at 1212 N State St.
▪ Wild Buffalo House of Music, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live music from a variety of bands and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. Wild Buffalo House of Music is at 208 W. Holly St.
