Millet Bakery
A new gluten-free bakery, Millet Bakery, opened Saturday, Jan. 3. The bakery is open from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday — with plans to expand hours soon — at 2500 Cornwall Ave. in downtown Bellingham, the previous location of Avellino Gluten Free Bakery.

Crooked Spoon
One of Fairhaven’s most prominent eateries closed permanently Sunday, Jan. 25, vacating a prime corner spot in the historic neighborhood. Crooked Spoon, previously known as Acme Valley Ice Cream, closed its only brick-and-mortar location at 1021 Harris Ave. The popular ice cream company will continue selling ice cream in grocery stores across the country.
