New additions at Bellis Fair mall include restaurant, holiday-themed chain
Bellingham’s Bellis Fair mall is making some changes as tenants leave the mall and new ones prepare to move in.
The mall lost two retailers in April: Forever 21 and Earthbound Trading Co., both of which closed permanently and vacated their spots in the mall. In February, the mall lost four retailers, although one new shop opened.
Three new tenants are planning to move into the mall, according to David Prince, the mall’s general manager. Verizon’s retail location inside the mall recently closed.
The first new addition, Spirit Halloween, is moving into the previous location of Forever 21 for its seasonal run. The chain seasonal Halloween stores are set to open nationwide in mid-August, according to the store’s website.
Bellis Fair will also be welcoming a new restaurant to its food court, according to Prince.
“We did just sign an agreement with a new food business going in where Fresh Grill used to be. … We are doing some work in the back before they take over, and then they will have to go through the health department’s processes so they won’t be open for a few months yet but they have signed. Their name is Kebabji and they will be doing Kebabs, Shwarma, Falafel, pitas, etc. Should be very good,” Prince said in an email to The Herald.
Prince said a third new tenant is coming to the mall soon, though he cannot share information on that store just yet.
“We are very close to an agreement with a new tenant in the old DSW space out by Buffalo Wild Wings,” Prince said. On the mall’s online map, the retail space is now labeled “Cosmic Games.”
The Bellis Fair mall currently has 76 tenants listed on its website. According to the mall’s online map, there are 103 total retail spots in the mall.
Bellis Fair mall is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at 1 Bellis Fair Way in Bellingham.
