Bellingham boat manufacturer launches first of two new Seattle tourist ferries

Bellingham boat manufacturer All American Marine recently launched the first of two catamarans that will stick around the Puget Sound.

The first 80-foot passenger vessel for Great Western Attractions was put into Squalicum Harbor this week. Its sister ship is expected to be launched in June, according to a news release from All American Marine.

Great Western Attractions operates the Seattle Great Wheel and Wings over Washington on Pier 57 and is planning to expand its operations with the addition of the catamarans. Each boat can carry 149 passengers.

All American Marine is having a busy year so far in 2020, having landed contracts to build two other catamarans for an Alaska Tour Boat company and having recently completed work on a boat for the Texas Fish and Wildlife agency. It was also awarded a contract to finish work on a zero-emission 70-foot passenger ferry.
