All American Marine lands contract to finish work on a zero-emissions passenger ferry
Bellingham-based All American Marine was awarded a contract to complete the construction of a 70-foot, zero-emissions passenger ferry.
The 84-passenger ferry will be hydrogen-powered with an electric drive that will operate in the San Francisco bay area. Some of the work All American is slated to do includes the aluminum construction and outfitting.
According to a company news release, this is the first hydrogen fuel-cell vessel in the U.S.
The project is funded by private capital from SW/TCH, which is building the first fleet of zero-emissions maritime vessels.
