Bellingham’s newest brewery opens Friday; come along for an early tour
Bellingham’s newest brewery is officially opening Friday, June 6. Stemma Brewing Co., a family-owned brewery based in Bellingham, is expanding to open its second brewery and taproom in Bellingham.
The company has taken over the location of Twin Sister’s Brewery and is making changes to the well known brewery, taproom, restaurant and beer garden since purchasing the space in January.
“Stemma Brewing is thrilled to announce the Grand Opening of its brand-new location, Stemma West, happening Friday, June 6, 2025! The celebration will feature live music, raffles, prizes, giveaways, and the official launch of The Riviera Club at Stemma West,” a news release from Stemma taproom operations manager Emily Gillis states.
The Riviera Club will operate out of the in-house kitchen, allowing visitors to order at the counter and pick up their food to enjoy across the large brewery space.
“Known for their delicious grass-fed burgers, crispy Ticker Tots, and flavorful bowls, The Riviera Club will be firing up the flat top for their own grand opening on June 6th, making it a double celebration under one roof! The Riviera Club will be operating a counter-service kitchen within Stemma West, bringing quick and delicious bites to the Sunnyland Neighborhood,” the news release said.
Guests can also enjoy food from Tacos Tepozteco, a food truck inspired by Tepoztlán, Mexico, and other food trucks that visit. The brewery will also have a freezer of ice cream, ice cream sandwiches and other treats.
Besides the outdoor beer garden and indoor seating area, the brewery building will also be open for guests to enjoy a separate bar and seating area, and a view of the brewery itself.
Eventually the brewery also plans to rent out the mezzanine level and other areas soft private events, and add more food trucks and brewery tours, according to Gillis.
The new expansion is also allowing the company to increase the total volume of barrels brewed, as both locations now have fully functioning breweries.
The new brewery will be open regularly from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 508 Carolina St. in Bellingham.
Stemma will also continue to run its flagship location from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 2039 Moore St. in Bellingham.
