Two of Whatcom County’s best prep soccer players get more honors
Two Whatcom County high school soccer players have been named to the all-state team as selected by the Washington boys soccer coaches association.
Tyler Hughes of Squalicum is a first-team midfielder on the Class 3A team and Nick Parris, a Lynden senior, is a first-team forward on the Class 2A roster.
Hughes, a senior, scored 15 goals this season and helped the Storm win the Northwest Conference title and reach the first round of the Class 3A State Playoffs this spring.
Parris scored 25 goals for Lynden, which was eliminated in the Class 2A Bi-District Tournament by eventual state champion Archbishop Murphy.
Earlier, Hughes and Parris shared Offensive Most Valuable Player honors on the All-Northwest Conference Boys’ Soccer Team.
