Whatcom Roundup: Dirty Dan reopening on the horizon; Bellingham shop for sale

Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse plans reopening
Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse, a Fairhaven restaurant that closed in 2023 after the fatal Terminal Building fire, is planning to reopen next month.
Management confirmed they are hoping to reopen mid-November in a Facebook comment on one a post on their profile.
No official reopening date has been announced. Dirty Dan Harris Steakhouse is at 1211 11th St. in Bellingham.
Bellingham shop listed for sale
Owners of Bellingham jewelry and bead shop Oasis Bead Lounge announced that the business is listed for sale through a July social media post.
“Oasis Bead Lounge is a beloved, one-person-run shop that has been in lovely downtown Bellingham for over 13 years (and for MANY years before that in several different sites in the PNW). The owner, at 80, is ONLY willing to retire because she’s leaving the area,” the post states.
Interested parties can inquire about the business by messaging the owner on Facebook.
Oasis Bead Lounge is at 1413 Cornwall Ave. in Bellingham and is open regularly from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Ragfinery update
Ragfinery, a textile recycling business, is planning to open a new location at 115 Unity St., Suite 101 in downtown Bellingham. Ragfinery closed its previous location following a fire in December 2024.
Management recently announced a moving update on the new space, assuring customers that after a brief delay, construction is back on track.
“After months of being closed for retail operations we hope that you will consider donating to us today! Every dollar will still be matched by our very generous anonymous donor through Whatcom Community Foundation, and every bit helps us reopen and get all of our staff back as soon as possible,” an email update states.
“While the renovations continue we have been hard at work offering monthly free mending at various housing programs around town.”
No opening date for the new location has been announced.
