Bellingham's average rental prices down again but well above this time last year

A recent survey of rental prices in Bellingham shows a decrease in September prices so far compared to last month.

The average price for Bellingham rentals of all bedrooms and all property types was $2,150 on Sept. 10, according to data from Zillow. That’s a $17 decrease compared to August’s average price, but an increase of $159 compared to September 2024.

“The price range for all bedrooms and all property types is $675 to $11,000,” according to Zillow’s September 2025 data.

Zillow also found that Bellingham’s average rental price is 3% higher than the national average in September.

“A one-bedroom apartment in Bellingham costs about $1,595 on average, while a two-bedroom apartment is $1,875,” according to real estate data company Zumper. “Houses for rent in Bellingham are more expensive, with an average monthly cost of $2,897.”

  • ​Birch Bay: $2,088
  • Deming: $2,600
