As gas prices increase across Whatcom County, here’s the cheapest local station
Gas prices in Whatcom County and Bellingham increased the second month in a row, but we found the cheapest gas station in Whatcom County.
The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.17 on Wednesday, July 2, according to AAA — 3 cents up from last month’s average. Last year, the nation’s average was $3.50.
Here’s the breakdown:
Washington
Washington’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $4.41 — a 3-cent increase from June’s average of $4.39. Last July, gas averaged $4.30 a gallon in Washington, according to AAA.
Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.57 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.47 a gallon, according to AAA.
Whatcom County
Whatcom County’s average cost of gas is $4.35 a gallon, a 6-cent increase compared to June.
On Wednesday, July 2, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas cost $4.35, according to AAA. That’s a 1-cent increase from last month’s average of $4.34.
