Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:

New sushi restaurant in Bellingham

A building permit application was filed May 5 for a new sushi take-out restaurant called Little Wojtek at 2606 W Maplewood Dr. in Bellingham. The application had not been approved as of May 9.

Foxhole Bar and Lounge returning

The Foxhole, a 21-and-older cocktail and coffee lounge that opened in June 2023 was temporarily closed last year during a change of ownership, but is now gearing up to reopen, according to the bar’s Instagram profile.

The Instagram profile now lists operating hours for the bar, which is open 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday at 215 W Holly St. Suite 101 in Bellingham. No official reopening date has been announced.

New chain restaurant making progress

New chain restaurant Sourdough & Co. is planned for Sunset Square at 1145 E Sunset Dr. Suite 125. A building permit application was filed Sept. 5 and was approved April 1.

The new soup, salad and sandwich restaurant is now listed on the chain’s website. No opening date has been announced, but the website states that job applications will open soon.

Sourdough & Co. has locations in California, Texas, Oregon, Nevada and other states, but no other locations in Washington.
