Gas prices drop in Whatcom County, WA and the U.S. Here’s the cheapest local station
Gas prices in Whatcom County and Bellingham are down this month, and we found the cheapest gas station in Whatcom County.
The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.16 on Monday, May 5, according to AAA — 8 cents down from last month’s average. Last year, the nation’s average was $3.65.

Washington
Washington’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $4.25 — a 14-cent decrease from April’s average of $4.39. Last May, gas averaged $4.67 a gallon in Washington, according to AAA.
Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.77 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.49 a gallon, according to AAA.
Whatcom County
Whatcom County’s average cost of gas is $4.10 a gallon, a 25-cent decrease compared to April.
On Monday, May 5, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas also cost $4.10, according to AAA, a 26-cent decrease from last month’s average of $4.36.
