April gas prices survey indicates a 29-cent increase over March across Washington

Gas prices in Whatcom County and Bellingham have increased this month, and we found the cheapest gas station in Whatcom County.

The average price of a gallon of gas across the United States was $3.24 on Tuesday, April 8, according to AAA — 15 cents up from last month’s average.

Here’s the breakdown:

Washington

Washington’s average cost of gas per gallon is now $4.39 — a 29-cent increase from March’s average of $4.10. Last April, gas averaged $4.62 a gallon in Washington, according to AAA.

Washington has the third-highest gas prices in the country, following California at $4.94 a gallon and Hawaii at $4.51 a gallon, according to AAA.

Whatcom County

Whatcom County’s average cost of gas is $4.35 a gallon, a 26-cent increase compared to March. On Tuesday, April 8, Bellingham’s average gallon of gas also cost $4.36, according to AAA, a 27-cent increase from last month’s average of $4.09.

Cheapest gas in Whatcom County

The cheapest gas price in Whatcom County on Tuesday, April 8 was $3.85 at Mobil, 5927 WA-539 in Bellingham, according to GasBuddy.

Last month, gas prices in Bellingham, Whatcom County and Washington also increased.
