Whatcom Roundup: New brewery opens; thrift shop relocates; development at the Pickford?
Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:
New ice cream shop in Barkley
Little Dreamer Ice Cream Co. is making progress on its ice cream shop, coming soon to Barkley Village.
The business filed another building permit with the city of Bellingham for an exterior sign at 3011 Cinema PL Suite 101, the previous location of Vitality Bowls Superfood Café, next door to Regal Cinemas.
The permit application was filed March 17 and had not been approved as of March 21.
Worn Again Thrift Shop moving
Worn Again Thrift Shop is moving, and opening its new location at 101 E Holly St. on Friday, April 11, according to an Instagram post.
The shop will be in the Bellingham National Bank Building on the corner of Holly and Cornwall.
The original location is currently having a storewide sale and is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 232 E Champion St. in Bellingham.
Pickford Film Center changes
The Pickford Film Center has filed a license application for “The Grand Cinema” at 105 Grand Ave. in downtown Bellingham.
The new application is classified as a beer and wine theater and had not been approved as of March 27.
Stemma Brewing opens new location
Stemma Brewing Co. has opened a new taproom at the previous location of Twin Sisters Brewery.
The brewery’s second location opened March 27 and will be open regularly from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and 3 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at 508 Carolina St. in Bellingham.
Stemma’s original brewery is still open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 2039 Moore St. in Bellingham.
