Only 5 dogs remain in our poll to find the cutest dog in Bellingham. Vote now in the finals

The stakes could probably be higher. But with bragging rights and the chance to get your dog featured in the Bellingham Herald on the line, only five dogs remain in our poll to find the cutest dog in Whatcom County.

After receiving over 140 submissions, the first round of the poll opened on Tuesday, Sept. 17. Voters narrowed the field down to 20 dogs for last week’s semifinals, with the five highest vote-getters advancing to the final round.

And after over 3,300 votes were cast in the semifinals, here are the five finalists:

Finalists for the cutest dog in Whatcom County

Boychik

Age: 3

Location: Bellingham

Breed: mix

Fun fact: He throws his front legs up like recurring Saturday Night Live character Target Lady when he’s excited.

Jessie

Age: 4

Location: Bellingham

Breed: golden retriever

Fun fact: She’s a rescue dog from Korea and would walk miles for a treat.

Sir Anthony Hopkins

Age: 4

Location: Bellingham

Breed: Australian Shepherd

Fun Fact: He loves to swim but doesn’t play fetch – his owners joke that he could be part seal.

MacDuff

Age: 1

Location: Bellingham

Breed: cairn terrier

Bodhi

Age: 7

Location: Bellingham

Breed: German shepherd mix

Fun fact: He loves his tennis balls and playing fetch more than anything.

Vote for your favorite using the poll below (Edition readers use this link). Subscribers can vote as many times as they want. Voting closes at noon on Sunday, Oct. 6. We’ll post the results next week, and the winner will receive a feature in the Herald.
