Whatcom Roundup: Mt. Baker cafe opening; Chipotle drive-through; Irish pub opens; events

Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

New Chipotle update

Progress is being made on a new Chipotle drive-through location, according to a recent permit filed with the city for an installation of a burglar alarm. The permit was applied and approved May 30. No opening date for the new Chipotle has been announced, but it is expected to open this summer at 104 Samish Way.

Mount Baker Heather Meadows Cafe opening

Heather Meadows Cafe, a restaurant nestled inside Mount Baker Heather Meadows Day Lodge, is reopening for the season on Friday, June 28. The cafe will be open from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday through Monday at mile marker 55 on Mount Baker Highway.

Uisce Irish Pub reopens in new location

Uisce Irish Pub, the “Irish Embassy of Bellingham,” has reopened its doors at its new location. The pub opened on June 6, and will now be open daily from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m.
