Bellingham events in June: Beer Prom; bike swap; live music; trivia; and festivals on tap
June is here already, and The Bellingham Herald has put together a guide of fun, local events for you to enjoy this month.
The following is a monthly roundup of key Bellingham events, festivals, trivia nights and live music this month. For a complete list of local events, visit bellinghamherald.com/events.
Bellingham events
▪ The Annual Safe Kids-Washington Safety Fair, a free children’s event, will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1 in the parking lot of Regal Cinemas in Barkley Village. The event will have activities for all ages, including a bike safety course, a fire safety house tour, practice riding the bus and touring a police car, fire engine, rescue boat and rescue helicopter. The event is at 3005 Cinema PL.
▪ Kulshan Brewing is bringing back their Beer Prom 2024: A Night With the Stars, from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, June 1. The event will benefit Lydia Place, a nonprofit aimed to combat local homelessness, and will include live music, dancing, a costume contest, and access to fundraising games. Tickets are still available online at cost $30 per person. The event is at Kulshan Brewing’s K2 location at 1538 Kentucky St.
▪ The Whatcom Youth Pride Parade and Festival will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 1. After the parade, there will be a festival at Bellingham High School at 2020 Cornwall Ave. with food trucks, live music and entertainment and resources. The parade will start across the street from the high school at the intersection of Halleck and Cornwall.
▪ The Bellingham Farmers Market is back on its regular weekly schedule with 100 vendors selling produce, flowers, handmade products and more. The market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday at The Depot at 1100 Railroad Ave.
▪ The Bellingham Dockside Market will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5 and 15 at 722 Coho Way. This market allows fishermen to sell their freshly caught fish directly from their boats. For the latest information on each week’s vendors, visit the market’s Facebook page.
▪ The Wander to Wander 1K fun run by the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center is back this year from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. The fun run is open for registration online for $20 per person, or on the day of the race for $25 per person. Kids ages 10 and under can participate for free. The race starts at Whatcom Dispute Resolution Center at 206 Prospect St. in Bellingham and ends at Wander Brewing at 1807 Dean Ave.
▪ The Bellingham Bike Swap from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 9 at Boundary Bay Brewery. Participants can drop off bike gear to sell and shop the sale, and 25% of all sales will be donated to Shifting Gears, an organization that strives to “empowers all women through outdoor recreation and education opportunities to remove barriers and foster belonging,” according to the organization’s website. Boundary Bay Brewery is at 1107 Railroad Ave.
▪ Stones Throw Brewery is hosting a Good Neighbor Night fundraiser from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday, June 24. The brewery will donate 10% of all revenue to Nooksack Salmon Enhancement, an organization that restores stream and riparian habits to recover wild salmon populations. Stones Throw Brewery is at 1009 Larrabee Ave.

▪ The Blue Room, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live performers and performances, including jazz nights, local artists, and improv nights. Tickets are available online in advance. The Blue Room is at 202 E. Holly St.
▪ The Shakedown, a live music venue and bar, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. The Shakedown is at 1212 N State St.
▪ Wild Buffalo House of Music, a live music and event venue, regularly hosts live music and performers. Tickets are available online in advance. Wild Buffalo House of Music is at 208 W. Holly St.
