Whatcom Roundup: Brewery plans new location; local restaurant closed; Cascade Pizza re-opens

Here’s your weekly roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

District Brewing plans new Whatcom location

District Brewing, a brewery and restaurant that started in Mount Vernon and has a location in Ferndale has filed a new application for a restaurant in Lynden. The brewery applied for a liquor license on Feb. 2 at 6918 Hannegan Rd. Suite 103, in Lynden . The application has not been approved as of 2/21.

Cascade Pizza reopens

Cascade Pizza, a restaurant serving pizza, pasta and grinders has reopened its doors after a brief closure for repairs. Cascade Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 3-9 p.m. Saturday at 2431 Meridian St. in Bellingham.

Pizza’zza closed permanently

Pizza’zza, a pizza restaurant in Bellingham, closed its doors back in October 2023 but a new post on the company’s Facebook page may bring some hope to those who loved the flavors and cuisine.

On Feb. 13, the Facebook page’s bio changed to promote “Wandering Chef Will,” a personal chef now for hire.

The Facebook page category has also been changed from “restaurant” to “personal chef.” Those who are interested can contact WanderingChefWill@gmail.com.
