Local brewery hosts Maui fundraiser

Boundary Bay Brewery is raising money to help those who were affected by the Maui wildfires. The brewery is selling leis and Maui Brewing Co’s Coconut Hiwa Porter. All proceeds of the sales will go to The Kokua Restaurant & Hospitality Fund, a fund that aims to provide support to Maui restaurant, hospitality and bar workers that were displaced because of the wildfires.

Boundary Bay Brewery is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and is at 1107 Railroad Ave. in Bellingham.

New formal wear store in Fairhaven

JB Formal Wear, a formal attire shop opened its shop on Sunday, August 13, according to an Instagram post. The store previously was located inside Belle Bridal.

The new shop sells and rents suits, tuxes, accessories and other formal wear and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday, and is at 1304 12th St. in Bellingham.

New counseling center opens in Blaine

TouchStone Counseling Group opened a new Youth Crisis Triage Intensive Outpatient Center and Youth Resource Center on Thursday, Aug. 17, according to a news release from the Bellingham Chamber of Commerce.

The facility has been remodeled since it was first built in 1912 and now features dedicated spaces for counseling, group therapy, education programs and crisis intervention.

Appointments can be made online and all insurance is accepted. TouchStone Counseling is at 288 Martin St. in Blaine.
