Here’s an update on recent retail activity around Whatcom County:

Milano’s is now open at 1208 11th St. Fairhaven, offering dinner and a bar that includes craft cocktails. The menu, which includes seafood, is continuing to evolve, co-owner Sam Hassan said in an email.

It is only offering dine-in services and at this time doesn’t have a to-go menu. The restaurant is open every day except Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., extended an hour later on Friday and Saturday.

The longtime Glacier restaurant closed in the foothills in April and before moving to Fairhaven next to Drizzle and the Colophon Cafe.

A new grocery store is coming to downtown Bellingham. V Go’s Bellingham is planning to be a one-stop shop for vegan products, according to its Facebook page. It is going into 1213 Cornwall Ave., across the street from the Hotel Leo. A scheduled opening is around the beginning of 2021.

The food truck Sage Against the Machine is planning to make regular appearances in front of the building while the remodeling of the vegan store wraps up.

The C Shop in Birch Bay may be temporarily closed to the public during the pandemic, but the crew is back at work making holiday candy. Orders are being taking now online, available for pickup starting Monday, Nov. 16.

A couple of local breweries have released new beers to brighten things up as the days become darker.

Chuckanut Brewery’s new Galaxy Wheat Ale is deep, golden and has tropical fruit flavors, according to a news release from the company. It is available on tap around Northwest Washington.

Kulshan Brewing Company is introducing a series of fruit IPA beers. The first, Tropical Odyssey Passionfruit Hazy IPA, was released on Friday, Oct. 30. Check the brewery’s social media pages or website for updates on the other releases.
