Milano’s has its last day in Glacier, but continues work to open in Fairhaven

The longtime Glacier restaurant Milano’s has closed as the owners continue to make preparations to re-open in Fairhaven.

In a letter to customers and on social media, Sam and Nancy Hassan announced the last day for the Italian restaurant in Glacier was Sunday, April 26. The owners are moving the restaurant into the Knights of Pythias Building at 1208 11th St., next to Drizzle Olive Oil and the Colophon Cafe.

An opening date for the Fairhaven restaurant hasn’t been announced yet, but the Hassans said they have all their permits in place and are working to finish the remodel.

Known for serving Italian food, Sam Hassan said the restaurant will continue to do so in Fairhaven with an expanded menu that puts an emphasis on seafood. It also will offer steak and Brazilian barbecue, something he was known for at his previous restaurant in Seattle. It also will have more than 100 wines to choose from.

Along with Milano’s, Bar Veneto will make the move to Fairhaven. The bar will serve a variety of drinks, including products made from Sam Hassan’s distillery.
