These are Bellingham’s tasty bites of 2019 that you should check out in the new year

Throughout 2019 Bellingham has had numerous foodie destinations open and some restaurants received facelifts. Here are a few of the favorite places I ate at in 2019 and will continue to do so in 2020!

Ordering Twin Sisters at The Daisy Cafe, 114 W. Magnolia St. — you can’t go wrong with perfectly poached eggs on English muffins smothered in cheese sauce and potatoes. I like to add bacon and avocado … because everything is better with bacon and avocado. Even though this was one of my favorite breakfasts of 2019 it will still be my breakfast of choice in the new year.

Taco’s aren’t just for Tuesdays. Thanks to Mi Rancho, $1 tacos can be enjoyed any day of the week. When I am in a pinch for a meal or just need tacos in my life Mi Rancho, at 3092 Northwest Ave., is a hidden gem that deserves the spotlight. If you are unsure of what to order, just ask or order one of everything.

A slice of Pure Bliss Desserts’ gluten-free chocolate cake has been my kryptonite. Whether it’s a Saturday night when my best friend and I notice we did something cake worthy in our week or well… I just love cake! Since Pure Bliss has been renovated at 1424 Cornwall Ave. it has become a great go-to place for meetings and catching up with friends.

Brandywine Kitchen’s fish and chips are to die for! For all of those gluten free or celiac eaters out there you can find solace in the fact that about half of the menu at Brandywine, 1317 Commercial St., is gluten-free! The cod is perfectly seasoned and coated in gluten-free panko, which is typically rice-based and lends for a beautifully light and crisp texture.

Cheers to a great year of tasty eats and I can’t wait to see what 2020’s menu has in store!
