Fuel your holiday shopping with stops at these Bellingham favorite restaurants

Sneaking out to the mall for some Santa shopping? You can branch out from the food court with these favorite restaurants to fuel your holiday shopping.

Starting early? Hit up The Birch Door Cafe, 4192 Meridian St. for some caffeine and breakfast. They’re open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Creative pancakes are a specialty, but they also offer French baked omelets, eggs Benedict and Homemade Biscuits and Country Gravy. You can check your list twice while you feast.

Shari’s is open 24/7 at 3904 Meridian St., across from Bellis Fair Mall. Shari’s is the “largest family-style brand in the Pacific Northwest,” so you’re probably familiar with the cafe menu and their pie.

Right now, you can get a free slice of pies with the purchase of an adult entree on Wednesdays from 4-10 p.m.

But if you need a real meal, two local restaurants offer spicy choices.

Mi Mexico, at 241 Telegraph Road, is a favorite for many families.

North of the mall, there’s Asian 1, “where healthy is delicious.” The restaurant at 4285 Meridian St. offers a wide range of sushi, Thai and Chinese foods. And you can pick your spicy level.
