Not all rental prices in Bellingham are increasing, here’s where to look

As the price for homes and apartments skyrockets across the country, one part of Bellingham has actually seen a decrease in price from last year.

According to RentHub, a rental housing data company, Bellingham’s median rental prices in the 98225 zip code have decreased by 1.75% from last year, the only decrease in price in the Bellingham area.

Other zip codes saw substantial increases, as rentals in the 98229 zip code increased by 5.26%, and rentals in the 98226 zip code increased by 15.83%.

On average, the median rent price in these zip codes is $1,900 a month, with a 7.9% average change in price from 2021.

The highest median rental price is in the zip code area of 98229, as last year’s almost 16% increase brought it up to $2,000 a month.

Looking for the most affordable rentals in Bellingham? Chances are they’ll be found in the 98225 zip codes, and average around $1,400 a month.
