Bellingham Taco Time location is shuttering, making way for unique pizza spot
A new restaurant is planned for Bellingham, bringing some new character and “odd” flavors to Whatcom County.
MOTO Pizza, a chain pizza restaurant known for unique pizza topping combinations and bright neon boxes, will open in Bellingham in the second half of the year, according to an email from Griffin Farnes of MOTO Pizza.
The new location was confirmed by The Bellingham Herald back in December 2023, and it was initially planned to open in spring of 2024.
Now, the long-awaited eatery is sharing more details on its fifth restaurant opening soon, serving its “odd pizza,” according to its website.
MOTO Pizza will be located at 4373 Meridian St., the current location of Taco Time, which is set to close May 5, according to Farnes. On May 6, construction on MOTO Pizza will begin.
The new restaurant will serve Detroit-style pizzas, sides, desserts and more, and is “bringing all the flavor, style, and robot energy you know and love to the space,” Farnes said.
Pizzas can be topped with unique pizza toppings like kimchi, Dungeness crab, clam, hot garlic chili oil, Filipino pork belly and spicy shrimp, as well as more traditional toppings like pepperoni, sausage, veggies, bacon, mushrooms, beef adobo and olives.
Salads, black garlic “cheezy” bread, and soft serve in a pizza dough cone are also on the restaurant’s menu, along with beer, seltzers, soda and sparkling water.
The restaurant will also have a drive-through for select menu items and a bright, neon atmosphere, as well as delivery services through Uber Eats and DoorDash.
No exact opening date has been announced.
