Bellingham’s Chick-fil-A is making progress, according to latest documents and photos

Back in May 2023, Chick-fil-A filed a permit with the city of Bellingham to propose a new drive-through restaurant, and here’s the latest update on its progress.

The popular chicken chain proposed a new 5,028-square-foot restaurant at 4030 Cordata Parkway, with a dual-lane drive-through and a large indoor dining area.

“While we are still early in the process, Chick-fil-A is happy to share that we are actively pursuing our first location in Whatcom County,” a Chick-fil-A spokesperson wrote in a September 2023 email to The Bellingham Herald.

Now, Chick-fil-A is making progress on the long-awaited restaurant according to recent updates from the city of Bellingham.

The city recently updated current planning notices online, adding new documents that include information on the restaurant’s progress.

A 30-page document containing updated demolition plans, construction plans and blueprints was also included and confirmed plans call for an indoor play area for children. The document also included illustrations of the new restaurant:

The city also posted documents, including a parking memo from June 18, an arborist memo from June 19, and a sanitary services approval letter from June 20.

No opening date has been confirmed.
