Bellingham restaurant featured as one of the best spots in the nation to get a burger
There’s no doubt that Bellingham is known for its a wide variety of food, restaurants and breweries. Now a local burger joint has been recognized nationally as having one of the best burgers in the United States.
Boomer’s Drive-In, a classic drive-in burger restaurant was noted by LoveFood.com, an online food publication based in London, for offering one of the best burgers you can eat right now in the United States.
The publication chose the 34 top burger spots by visiting the restaurants, as well as user reviews and awards. Boomer’s Drive-In was the only restaurant recognized in Washington.
The article ranked Boomer’s “Big Boom” burger as the best. It’s an 8oz burger topped with American cheese, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and special sauce on a sesame seed bun.
“You’ll find it at Boomers Drive-In in Bellingham, a fun, old-fashioned drive-in which feels a little like stepping back into old Americana. Expect classic décor, speedy, friendly service, and delicious, bulky burgers,” the article states.
The popular restaurant has also won four reader polls by The Bellingham Herald, being named the best affordable burger, the best French fries, the best milkshake and the best root beer float in Whatcom County.
Boomer’s Drive-In also serves chicken and fish burgers, as well as veggie burgers, chicken strips, corn dogs, fish and chips, curly fries, sweet potato fries, deep fried mushrooms, onion rings, salads, malts, floats, ice cream cones and ice cream sundaes.
Boomer’s Drive-In is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday at 310 N Samish Way in Bellingham.
