Whatcom Roundup: New Bellingham flower market; Wingstop coming soon
Here’s our weekly roundup of the latest retail and restaurant activity around Whatcom County:
New flower market opening
A new flower market is planned for Bellingham called North Sound Flower Cooperative. Starting April 1, the weekly market is open from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays at 112 Ohio St. in Bellingham.
“The North Sound Flower Cooperative’s growers provide the freshest flowers directly to florists, business owners, and flower lovers alike,” the cooperative’s website states.
Wholesale orders also are available.
Bellinghamsters store opens
The Bellinghamsters store, a Bellingham-themed stuffed animal store, has reopened in a new location after closing its previous location due to flooding. The store sells stuffed animal hamsters with outfits and accessories.
The store is now open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays at 2025 James St. in Bellingham.
Wingstop makes progress in Bellingham
Wingstop is making progress toward opening its new location at 177 Telegraph Rd. in Bellingham, as the restaurant filed a building permit application for a new sign installation that was approved March 18. No opening date has been announced.
Voting open for Cascade’s Best Awards
The annual Cascade’s Best Awards, a local competition featuring local businesses and companies across Northwest Washington, is back for another year.
Voting for this year’s awards is now open through 5 p.m. April 3. Awards are given out in various categories such as home and garden, shopping, eat and drink, education, services and more.
Winners for the 2026 awards will be announced in June.
