Ferndale chiropractor raped two patients, police say

A Ferndale chiropractor has been arrested on suspicion of raping two of his female patients during treatment sessions within the last year and a half, police said.

Terry Ray Rouse, 55, owns Rouse Chiropractic Clinic at 2068 Vista Drive. He turned himself in to police on Tuesday morning, according to the Ferndale Police Department.

Police said they had found probable cause to arrest Rouse on two counts of second-degree rape.

Rouse made his first appearance in Whatcom County Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon. Commissioner Martha Gross set Rouse’s bail at $10,000, noting his lack of criminal history and his status as a “long-standing member of the community.”

State Department of Health records show Rouse has an active chiropractic license that he first received in September 1992.
