Man dies due to medical condition at Birch Bay Waterslides

A man suffered what authorities believe to be a medical condition and died at the Birch Bay Waterslides Tuesday.

Undersheriff Jeff Parks, of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, said the man, who was in his 50s, likely suffered a heart attack.

North Whatcom Fire and Rescue Division Chief Henry Hollander said the incident happened between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., and that the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
