Lummi doesn’t even break sweat for fourth victory of season

The Lummi football team picked up its fourth win of the season Thursday the same way it picked up its first – via forfeit.

Blackhawks coach Jim Sandusky said Thursday afternoon that Muckleshoot Tribal forfeited the game to Lummi, improving second-ranked Lummi’s record to 4-0. It marks the second time in two years that Lummi has beaten Muckleshoot by forfeit.

The Blackhawks hope to get back on the field at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 against Sunnyside Christian at Kittatas High School one week before it opens Northwest 1B Football League action at home against Tulalip Heritage.
