Sehome junior baseball player Felix Zavisubin has been selected Class 2A Boys' Athlete of the Week by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, according to a release.

Zavisubin tossed his first shutout of the season in an April 4 win over Bellingham, limiting the Red Raiders to two hits and three walks while striking out five. He had 25 first-pitch strikes in a 102-pitch gem.

He becomes the third Whatcom County student-athlete to earn the statewide honor this spring, joining Bellingham softball’s Eliza Rossman and Squalicum soccer’s Tyler Hughes.
