Bellingham tennis player selected WIAA Athlete of the Week

Bellingham junior tennis player Ellie Iwersen has been selected the Class 2A Girls’ Athlete of the Week by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association, according to a press release.

Iwersen came back to win her No. 1 singles match over Sedro-Woolley’s Kassidee Beuse, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, on Friday, April 15.

She becomes the fourth Whatcom County student-athlete to earn Athlete of the Week honors this spring, joining Sehome baseball’s Felix Zavisubin, Bellingham softball’s Eliza Rossman and Squalicum soccer’s Tyler Hughes.
