Love Squishmallows? McDonald’s rolls out Happy Meal featuring the beloved plush toys
McDonald’s Squishmallows Happy Meals are finally headed to the U.S.
Starting Dec. 26, the nostalgic boxed meals featuring the beloved plush toys will be available at participating McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, the fast food giant announced in a news release.
Every Happy Meal comes with one of 12 Squishmallow characters, each outfitted with a unique music playlist, the release said. The “Squishmallows Squad” includes classic characters like Grimace, Cam, Fifi and a “surprise mystery character” not yet unboxed.
McDonald’s launched the limited-time meals in select global markets to much success before bringing them to the U.S., according to the restaurant.
“We’re all about connecting our fans to culture and Squishmallows are some of the hottest toys out there right now,” Tariq Hassan, chief marketing and customer experience officer for McDonald’s USA, said in a statement.
The plush collectibles, each with “with lovable personalities, a whimsical design, and ultrasoft feel,” hit the market in 2017 and were recently ranked among the world’s best selling toys, according to the Squishmallows’s website.
The toys are sold in stores and online in 55 countries, the website says.
The Squishmallows Happy Meal will be available for a limited time, although McDonald’s did not say how long.
Pricing information wasn’t immediately available.
