Bellingham man accused of raping child enters plea on seven felony charges

A Bellingham man has pleaded not guilty to seven felony charges related to the rape of a child.

David Plumlee, 33, was arrested March 19 by the Mount Vernon Police Department. According to court records, the investigation into Plumlee began after a sexual assault exam was performed on a 4-year-old on March 8. The child described multiple instances of being raped by Plumlee.

Plumlee pleaded not guilty to all charges Friday, March 20 in Whatcom County Superior Court.

After his arrest in Mount Vernon, Plumlee was taken to the Whatcom County Jail by the Bellingham Police Department. He remains in custody in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
