Court documents indicate Jimenez-Ramirez punched her and then grabbed a knife and told her she couldn’t leave. He slashed her in the right arm as she tried to exit the house, and officers saw both of them leaving the residence as they arrived.

The woman had a bandage on her arm, and she was taken to St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham. Court records describe the cut as deep and about 3 to 4 inches long.

Jimenez-Ramirez admitted to police that he had hurt someone, but did not say who. He was released from jail Wednesday after posting a $5,000 cash bond. A no-contact order with the woman is in place.

Jimenez-Ramirez’s trial is scheduled for March 9.
