Christmas Day thieves steal outdoor fireplace from Bellingham Mexican restaurant

An outdoor fireplace was stolen on Christmas Day from the Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant on Meridian Street.

The new outdoor fireplace was in place for a Patio Grand Opening Night, according to a Facebook post from Jalapenos Family Mexican Restaurants.

The theft occurred sometime around 6:20 p.m. Christmas Day, when two unknown people entered the patio, took the fireplace and left. One of the suspects is described as a white male with a beard wearing a sweatshirt.

The fireplace is valued around $7,500.

Police are asking for help locating the fireplace. Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to contact the city of Bellingham at www.cob.org/tips or 360-778-8611.
