Second Whatcom man arrested for allegedly drugging, raping several men in Maple Falls
The second Maple Falls man accused of luring young men to his home, drugging them and sexually assaulting them has been arrested by the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office.
Henry “Hank” Charles Felkey, 57, was arrested June 12 on suspicion of four counts of second-degree rape, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of witness tampering.
The sheriff’s office previously arrested 50-year-old Keven Wayne Milam on June 2. Milam has been charged in Whatcom County Superior Court with two counts of second-degree rape and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Amended charges were filed against Milam on Tuesday, June 16, but those court records were not immediately available Thursday, June 18.
Felkey was initially arrested on June 2 as well, but had a medical emergency while en route to the jail and was taken to the hospital. It was determined that due to his medical issues he wouldn’t be booked into jail, but charges would be filed, according to court records.
In late May, the sheriff’s office was contacted by several women who said that Felkey and Milam were sexually assaulting young men at their Maple Falls residence and that at least one assault was filmed and happened while the victim was unconscious, the court records show.
The investigation determined that there are at least five credible young men who say they went to Felkey and Milam’s residence and either used drugs or had food or drinks with drugs in them that caused the victims to become unconscious, and that they were then sexually assaulted by Milam and Felkey, according to court records. One victim who did not use recreational drugs with Felkey and Milam woke up while being assaulted, the court records state.
When Felkey was arrested in early June, he allegedly admitted to having sexual contact with several of the men, but said the acts were consensual, the records state.
On June 12, one of the victims reported to the sheriff’s office that Felkey had sent him a message that read “Why don’t you try telling the sheriff that you would like to make a new statement and you were pressured into making last statement,” the court records show. Another message accused the victim’s brother, who is also one of Felkey and Milam’s victims, of lying about the assault, the records state.
Felkey told deputies he sent the message to the victim because “he wanted him ‘to tell the truth’,” court records show.
Felkey’s arraignment is scheduled for June 26.
Milam is scheduled for an arraignment on the updated charges on June 26. He was released on $100,000 bail on Tuesday, according to Whatcom County Jail records.
