“For decades, many Bellingham residents and contractors have lacked a convenient local option to recycle construction and demolition materials and other valuable resources. The new facility helps fill that gap by accepting wood, metal, cardboard and other recoverable commodities that might otherwise end up in landfills, while making recycling easier and more accessible for the community,” the news release states.

The new facility opened in January but will have a grand opening ribbon-cutting at 3:30 p.m. April 22 — Earth Day. A public open house will follow from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The new location at 2885 E. Bakerview Road is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
