USA Today’s latest list of nation’s top brewpubs includes Bellingham brewery
Otherlands Beer in Bellingham has been named one of the best brewpubs in the country by USA Today.
The newspaper’s annual nationwide competition began with a list of 20 brewpubs “nominated as the best in the U.S. by a panel of beer experts.” Readers voted over several week to name the top 10 brewpubs in the country.
“We’re deeply humbled and excited to be nominated for national recognition a second time. To us, it’s a reflection of both the creativity and hard work of our team and that unique Bellingham enthusiasm for weird local businesses. We’re hopeful that this contest will help shine a well deserved light on the outstanding craft beer and small business community we’re lucky enough to be a part of here in Bellingham,” Otherlands co-owner Karolina Lobrow told The Herald last week.
Last year Otherlands Beer ranked seventh out of the top 10 breweries in the country.
This year, the brewery was named the sixth best brewpub in the countrywide competition.
“Surprisingly, we are the only West Coast brewpub that placed in the final count, so it feels great to be able to represent from WA state,” Lobrow told The Herald on March 4.
The Sunnyland neighborhood brewery was launched in 2020 by Lobrow and Ben Howe, who wanted to create “a cozy beautiful space” with inspiration from Lobrow’s Polish heritage, according to the brewery’s website.
Otherland’s Beer is open from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 2121 Humboldt St. in Bellingham.
