Bellingham brewery nominated for top brewpub in the U.S.; voting closes soon
A Bellingham brewery has been nominated out of 20 in the country, to compete for the title of The Best Brewpub by USA Today.
“What’s better than a craft brewery? A craft brewery with an on-premises bar where you can sit back, relax, and enjoy a cold one. These 20 brewpubs, nominated as the best in the U.S. by a panel of beer experts, serve their own house beers — often alongside guest taps or cans — and a menu of tasty food options,” USA Today’s website states.
Otherlands Beer, a brewery and cafe in Bellingham, has been nominated for the second year in a row. Last year the brewery ranked seventh out of the top 10 breweries in the country.
The Sunnyland neighborhood brewery was started by Lobrow and Ben Howe in 2020, who wanted to create “a cozy beautiful space” with inspiration from Lobrow’s Polish heritage, according to the brewery’s website.
“We’re deeply humbled and excited to be nominated for national recognition a second time. To us, it’s a reflection of both the creativity and hard work of our team and that unique Bellingham enthusiasm for weird local businesses. We’re hopeful that this contest will help shine a well deserved light on the outstanding craft beer and small business community we’re lucky enough to be a part of here in Bellingham,”
Voting is open once a day and closes Monday, Feb. 23. The top 10 winners will be announced March 4.
Otherland’s Beer is open from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 2121 Humboldt St. in Bellingham.
