Whatcom Roundup: Chick-fil-A update; new Bellis Fair shop and Bellingham deli

New store in Bellis Fair mall
Bellis Fair mall has welcomed a new, quirky store, selling one main item that may surprise you.
According to a Facebook post from Bellis Fair, Klondike Gifts, has opened, offering a wide variety of rubber ducks for sale.
Bellis Fair mall is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham.
New Bellingham restaurant in progress
A building permit application was filed for a new deli restaurant called Frankie’s Deli at 2517 Meridian St. in Bellingham, the previous location of Junior Flooring & Construction LLC. The application was filed Sept. 30 and was approved Oct. 31.
Chick-fil-A update
Chick-fil-A is making visual progress on its new location in Bellingham.
The construction site has been gated off, and the restaurant building is already visible at 4030 Cordata Parkway, near Bellis Fair mall.
The new restaurant still does not have an opening date, but the permits for the project were issued back in August.
The restaurant is estimated to cost $1,016,359.08, and will be a 4,989-square-foot building with a dual drive-through.
