Ponderosa Beer and Books closed

Ponderosa Beer and Books, a taproom, bottle shop and book shop, has permanently closed. The Bellingham shop announced the closure on social media, closing on Thursday, Aug. 28 with a final party.

Ponderosa Beer and Books was located at 1225 Roeder Ave. near downtown Bellingham.

MOTO Pizza opens

MOTO Pizza, a new pizza restaurant known for its unique pizza toppings and locations in Seattle and T-Mobile Park, has officially opened.

The opening was announced in an Aug. 29 social media post.

MOTO Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily at 4373 Meridian St.

New fitness studio proposed

A permit application has been filed to the city of Bellingham for a “boutique fitness studio” called Annabel & Co. at 1405 10th St. The permit was approved Aug. 28.

Last day for Barb’s Pies and Pastries

Popular downtown Ferndale bakery Barb’s Pies and Pastries will close permanently Sept. 6, according to a social media post.

Owner Barb O’Brine announced her plan to retire and the bakery’s closure on an Aug. 25 social media post from the business.
