A fire at a Darigold facility in Whatcom County caused more than $1 million in damage

A fire in Lynden on Wednesday caused more than $1 million in damages to a Darigold powdered milk facility.

No injuries were reported in the fire, which took more than an hour to get under control, according to an incident report from the Lynden Fire Department. The fire was reported just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The response crew included two fire engines, a ladder truck and 16 responders.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Crews reported fires on the second and third floors of the building at the processing plant at 8424 Depot Road.

Total damage from is estimated to be approximately $1.5 million, according to the Lynden Fire Department.
